Writer Joseph Kassesian addresses Moussa Ler festivities in Athens

Writer Joseph Kassesian, secretary of Hellenic Armenian Studies Center, was the main lecturer in the festivities dedicated to the 101st anniversary of the heroic battle of Moussa Ler . The festivities, organized by the ERA Association, were held on Sunday September 25 at the premises of Sourp Asdvadzadzin Armenian church in Athens. The speaker, who has written or translated more than twenty books on Armenian and the Armenian Question, characterized the battle of Moussa Ler as a battle for life, liberty and above all a battle for honor. Dr. Kassesian underlined the fact that the heroic fighters of Moussa Ler saved the honor of the Armenian people, who were being massacred like lambs because of the inability of the Armenian political leaders of that time. He also stressed the similarities of the Moussa Ler fighters with the heroic people of Karabagh who are inspired by the same feelings of patriotism and honor.
